On Thursday April 9th, Big Screen Plaza joined popular landmarks across New York in illuminating a beautiful blue color in honor of the first responders risking their health on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.
It’s all part of #LightItBlue, a nationwide salute that began at 8pm local time in 150 locations—including office buildings, sports arenas, civic centers, landmarks and more—in cities across America.
In a tweet, Governor Cuomo showed his appreciation for the healthcare works and essential workers braving the virus:
Landmarks across the state are lit blue tonight in support of all the healthcare workers and all the essential personnel on the frontlines in our battle against #COVID19.— Andrew Cuomo (@NYGovCuomo) April 10, 2020
We thank them from the bottom of our hearts for all they do.
They are heroes. #LightItBlue #NewYorkTough pic.twitter.com/UIzu1fz9kl
Big Screen Plaza will continue to #Lighitblue every evening to show our support for the essential & health care professionals working on the front lines to keep us safe.
